these damn playlists found me songs
with jumpy beats
offered me lyrics i could keep
put on repeat
till my chest got pulled out from me

i mean, it’s only been a week
and it was blaring red / wasn’t i just finding warmth?

all these feelings a burden to carry
the wind brings too much freedom to learn

like the burn from a cigarette incinerating my lungs
